FAQ

RichPOS for Linux: questions

Is RichPOS for Linux free?

The Linux app is a free download. You use it with a RichPOS account: a free 30-day trial with no card, then ₹99/month for the first 3 months, then ₹199/month, or ₹2,000/year. One plan covers the web, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux apps, with unlimited devices.

Which file should I download, .deb or AppImage?

Use the .deb on Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint and distros based on them: it installs like any other app and adds RichPOS to your app menu. Use the AppImage on other 64-bit distros such as Fedora or openSUSE: it is one file that runs without installing.

Which printers work with RichPOS for Linux?

Thermal receipt printers with 58 mm or 80 mm paper. A LAN (network) printer works as soon as you type its IP address in Printer setup. A USB printer must first be added in your printer settings (CUPS); Printer setup then lists it, and RichPOS sends the bill to it in raw mode. A4 printers work too.

Does it work on ARM or 32-bit Linux?

No, RichPOS for Linux is for 64-bit Intel/AMD (x86_64) PCs only. On other devices, use RichPOS in Chrome or Firefox at https://app.richdaddy.in.

Does RichPOS for Linux work offline?

No. RichPOS needs an internet connection to bill. If the connection drops, the app shows a No internet screen and loads again when you are back online.

How do I remove it?

In RichPOS, choose Printer → Remove print agent (stops the agent and removes it from login). Then uninstall: sudo apt remove rich-pos for the .deb, or delete the AppImage file.
