Facts as listed on vyaparapp.in, vyaparapp.in/pricing, mybillbook.in and mybillbook.in/pricing-plans on 16 Oct 2026. Neither pricing page said whether GST is added. Offers change often, so check the current price on their site.
Both pages show these prices as discounts from higher figures (Vyapar from ₹7,499 and ₹9,099; myBillBook Plus from ₹4,833). Ask each vendor what the renewal price will be in year two.
Which works offline, Vyapar or myBillBook?
Vyapar clearly says it works offline: its home page says offline billing keeps the queue moving and data syncs when you are back online. myBillBook's pages we checked did not say it bills offline; they talk about real-time sync across devices.
If your shop's internet drops often and you cannot keep a mobile hotspot as backup, offline billing is a real reason to pick Vyapar. Ask myBillBook directly if its desktop app bills without internet before you decide.
Which is better for GST, e-invoice and e-way bills?
Both make GST bills and GST reports. For e-way bills, Vyapar includes 10 a month on Silver and unlimited on Gold, while myBillBook includes unlimited e-way bills and e-invoicing only on Pro Max.
Most small retail shops do not need e-invoicing: it applies only above a turnover limit set by the government, and only to B2B invoices. If you sell mostly to walk-in customers, GST bills plus GSTR-1 data for your CA is what you need. myBillBook lists GSTR-1, GSTR-2 and GSTR-3B reports and a CA login on every plan.
Can I move my data from Vyapar to myBillBook (or back)?
Yes, at least your customer and item lists. myBillBook's help article says to export your customer and item lists from Vyapar settings and upload them with its bulk upload feature, and that its support team can help.
Before switching, export three things from the old app: items with prices and GST rates, customers with their outstanding balances, and your sales register for the year. Old bills usually stay in the old app or in an export file for your CA, so keep a copy. Ask the new vendor whether opening stock and customer dues can be imported, not just names.
Plan the switch for the start of a month or a quarter, so one GST return period sits fully in each app. Then your CA gets one clean sales report per period instead of two partial ones. Run both apps side by side for a few days if you can, and only stop the old one after your first full day close in the new one matches the cash in the drawer.
Which is better for barcode billing at a counter?
Both list barcode scanning and barcode generation, so test speed at your own counter rather than trusting a feature list. myBillBook adds label-printer barcode printing on Pro; Vyapar lists a barcode generator and scanner and separate POS billing pages.
The real test is a queue: scan 20 items, apply a discount, take part cash and part UPI, and print. Time it in both trials with your own scanner and printer.
Which has better udhaar reminders?
Both send payment reminders on WhatsApp. myBillBook says its WhatsApp and SMS reminders carry UPI links and that you can share live ledgers; Vyapar says it sends bills and payment reminders on WhatsApp directly from the app.
If udhaar is your main problem and you do not need billing, a free khata app may be enough. See our Khatabook vs OkCredit guide.
Is there a third option if I run two shops?
Yes. If you run two shops or a shop plus a godown, compare how each app handles more than one location and how much it costs. Vyapar lists 3 companies on Silver and 5 on Gold; myBillBook lists 2 businesses on Pro Max and unlimited godowns on Pro and Pro Max.
RichPOS is a third option built for counter billing across stores: multiple stores and warehouses are on one plan, with staff assigned per store. Read RichPOS vs Vyapar and RichPOS vs myBillBook for honest head-to-heads, including where each is stronger.
