How to use it

  1. Add your items. Type each item's name, MRP, an offer price if there is one, the unit (per kg, 1 piece) and how many tags you need. Paste many rows from Excel at once.
  2. Pick size and colour. Large tags (8 per A4) for shelves and windows, medium (18) for shelf edges, small (36) to stick on items. Choose red, navy or black and white to save ink.
  3. Check the preview. Tags with an offer show the MRP struck through, the offer price in large type and how much the customer saves. An offer price above the MRP is flagged.
  4. Print and cut. Press Print / Save as PDF, choose A4, Scale 100% and Margins None, then cut along the dashed lines. Thicker paper or card stock lasts longer on the shelf.

Each sheet keeps an 8 mm margin so ordinary printers do not cut off the edge tags.

Questions

Is this price tag maker free?

Yes. Make and print as many tags as you like with no sign-up and no watermark; up to 360 tags (10 sheets) per print. Everything runs in your browser. Only the optional Excel copy of your price list asks for your name and WhatsApp number once.

Can I sell above the MRP shown on the pack?

No. Under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules a packaged item cannot be sold above its MRP, which includes all taxes. You can sell below it, which is what an offer price is. This tool flags any offer price that is higher than the MRP.

What should a shelf price tag show?

At least the item name and the price the customer will pay. For packaged goods that is the MRP or a lower offer price; for loose goods, the rate and unit, such as ₹60 per kg. Showing the MRP struck through next to the offer price makes the saving clear.

Which tag size should I use?

Large (97 × 70 mm, 8 per A4) for shelf headers, windows and offer displays; medium (65 × 47 mm, 18 per A4) for shelf edges in a kirana or medical store; small (48.5 × 31 mm, 36 per A4) to stick or hang on clothes, gifts and stationery.

Can I print the tags on sticker paper?

Yes, plain A4 sticker sheets (one full sticker per sheet) work: print, then cut along the dashed lines. Pre-cut label sheets will not line up with these tags; for those use the barcode label generator, which matches common A4 label sheets.

Can I add a barcode to the price tag?

Not on these tags. For a barcode with the item name and MRP on pre-cut label sheets or thermal rolls, use the free barcode label generator.

Can I write the item name in Hindi or Gujarati?

Yes. Type the name in any language; it prints in your phone's or computer's font. Check the preview, since a long name is shortened to fit the tag.
