Tally export for your CA

Billing Software with Tally Export for Your CA

Quick answerRichPOS has a Tally Export page that downloads your sales, credit notes, purchases, debit notes and receipts or payments for any date range as a Tally import XML file, or as an Excel-friendly CSV. A masters file brings ledgers, GST duty ledgers and stock items with HSN, so your CA stops re-typing bills.

How it works

How to send your books to Tally

  1. Set ledger names once

On the Tally Export page, match ledger names (sales, purchase, discount, round off and so on) to the names your CA uses in Tally. They are saved for your store.

  2. Download the masters

Download the masters file: units, GST duty ledgers, customer and supplier ledgers with GSTIN and state, and stock items with HSN, unit and GST rate.

  3. Pick a date range

Choose the month or any date range and download sales vouchers, credit notes, purchases, debit notes and receipts / payments.

  4. Choose XML or CSV

Take the Tally import XML, or the CSV if your CA prefers to check figures in Excel first.

  5. Your CA imports it

Your CA imports the masters first and then the vouchers into the company in Tally. Start with a small date range to check ledger names.

FAQ

Questions shop owners ask

Can I export my RichPOS data to Tally?

Yes. The Tally Export page downloads sales, credit notes, purchases, debit notes and receipts or payments for a date range as a Tally import XML file, plus a masters file with ledgers and stock items. Your CA imports them into Tally instead of typing each bill.

Will the GST figures in Tally match my bills?

They are built from the saved bill lines, so taxable value and GST per rate are the same as the printed bill and the GSTR-1 report in RichPOS. GST is calculated after bill discounts, the same way on the bill and in the export.

What if my CA's ledger names are different?

Set your CA's ledger names once on the Tally Export page. They are saved per store and used in every export after that.

Can I get the data in Excel instead?

Yes. Each export can be downloaded as a CSV file that opens in Excel, if your CA wants to check the figures before importing.

Is there a limit on how much I can export at once?

Each file holds up to 5,000 vouchers. A busy shop can export one month at a time.

Do I still need Tally if I use RichPOS?

Not for billing, stock or GST reports; RichPOS covers those. Many shops keep Tally because their CA does the final accounts and returns in it. The export lets both work together without double entry.
