Control your shop when staff bills

Day Close Cash Counting and Staff Control for Your Shop

Quick answerRichPOS shows how much cash should be in the drawer at day end (opening cash plus cash sales, minus cash expenses and refunds) and records what was counted, with short or excess. A staff sales report shows each biller's bills and discounts, an activity log shows edits and deletes, and each role gets a maximum discount.

How it works

How day close and staff control work

  1. Set roles and limits

Give each salesman a role with only the pages they need and a maximum discount %. A lowered price counts as discount too, so the limit can't be dodged.

  2. Staff bill as usual

Every bill carries the name of the user who made it. Purchase cost is not shown on the POS page.

  3. Close the day

At closing, Day Close shows expected cash line by line. The cashier counts the notes with the denomination helper and saves the closing.

  4. Check short or excess

The owner sees each day's closing, who closed it and any short or excess highlighted. UPI and card totals are shown separately for reference.

  5. Review staff and changes

Open Staff Sales for bills, sales, average bill, discount and returns per biller, and the Activity Log for edited or deleted bills, price changes and login attempts.

FAQ

Questions shop owners ask

How does RichPOS calculate the cash that should be in the drawer?

Expected cash is the opening cash plus cash payments received, minus cash expenses and cash refunds on returns. Each line shows where it came from, and gift vouchers sold for cash are included. UPI and card payments are shown separately because they don't go into the drawer.

Can my cashier close the day without me?

Yes. Counter staff can close today's register. They cannot close or change past days. As the owner you can see every closing, who did it and whether cash was short or extra.

How do I know which salesman gives the most discount?

The Staff Sales report shows, for each biller and date range, the number of bills, sales, average bill value, total discount given and returns. You can open the bills behind each figure or download a CSV.

Can I stop staff from giving too much discount?

Yes. Set a maximum discount % on each role. If a bill's discount, including a lowered price, is above the limit, it is not saved. Automatic offers you created don't count against the limit.

Can I see if someone deleted or edited a bill?

Yes. The Activity Log records edits and deletes of bills, price changes, bulk price updates and failed logins, with the user and time. You can filter by date, user and action.

Can staff see my purchase price?

No. Purchase cost is not shown on the POS page, and you can hide other pages, such as reports, from staff roles.
